The Wigwam adds two chefs to executive culinary team

Two talented chefs have joined the Executive Culinary Team at The Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa, a luxury resort in Phoenix’s West Valley.

Jered Kelley was named Executive Sous Chef and Leobardo Ramirez was promoted to Executive Pastry Chef.

“Each of these chefs brings a wealth of culinary expertise to the resort’s kitchen operations,” said Executive Chef Kurt Zuger. “I am excited to have them on the culinary team.”

Kelly’s primary focus will be to oversee the banquet operations and support the resort restaurants. He joined The Wigwam from the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek in Colorado, where he served as Banquet Sous Chef. A nine-year culinary veteran, he has also held similar positions at properties in Arizona and Kansas.

Ramirez was promoted from Assistant Pastry Chef, a position that he has held at The Wigwam since 2005. He learned pastry growing up in his parent’s restaurant in Brea, Calif., and throughout his career has held positions at resorts and restaurants in California and Arizona. He also teaches a course in Classical Pastry at Estrella Mountain Community College.
